I tried to install Silverlight 2.0 plug-in on my Windows 2000 pc, which has SP 4 and IE 6 SP1, but got a "Missing required system component" error message, and a link that leads me to the Silverlight supported platform page, which didn’t give any cue.
After a number of guess and try, I found the missing part is the Windows Installer. I installed the Windows Installer 3.1, and then the Silverlight 2.0 plug-in was installed without any problem.
